We started as a food truck turning heads on Telegraph, slinging döner the way it hits in Berlin: loud flavor, halal meat, sauces that don’t hold back.
The Döner Shawarma is a halal Turkish–German döner concept rooted in Metro Detroit’s food scene — close to Dearborn’s halal traditions, with a street-poster pulse inspired by late-night spots in Kreuzberg.
Today we’re on Ford Road in Garden City: fast-casual counter, art on the walls, and the same mission — real bread, real fire-kissed meat, and portions built for people who show up hungry.

An expansion of a beloved food truck into a casual Garden City storefront, this outpost serves generous sandwiches filled with döner kebab and beef or chicken shawarma in the same hearty style as the truck; the original Dearborn-based truck is expected to relocate soon.
Tried Doner Shawarma yesterday and it definitely hit the spot! The portions were generous, the flavors were bold, and everything tasted fresh. The meat was well seasoned and juicy, and the garlic sauce was spot on. The place was clean, and service was quick and friendly. We'll be back for sure!

I'm middle eastern and I know what authentic Döner kebab is, from Germany and Turkey, this spot does an amazing job representing these authentic hot spots for it!
